It smelled stronger in the bottle, so decided to drop 0.5% from the original Ice Cream. Even mixed down from their Ice Cream, this one presented as much more forward, and fuller. A lot of similarities to SSA’s Ice Cream but with more presence, and some nice Vanilla notes thrown in. The vanilla seemed close to a vanilla bean that was high enough in the mix to make itself known but not overpower the profile. Clean, accurate, and I actually think better than their Ice Cream. I love the fresh approach to an Ice Cream SSA has taken, as none of the somewhat off-putting sour or typical cream notes found in many other IC’s. One of the best I have tried. Even presenting stronger/fuller/richer than the regular Ice Cream, it isn’t as heavy handed as say LB’s VIC. Sweetness was lower than mid level, and I could see numerous uses for this one, as was the case with the Ice Cream. Moving this up on the scale for a fuller, richer, more flavorful experience than the regular. @Frunkster: Good flavouring this, it does have some minor baggage it the form of a distinct off note, not something that tastes bad at all really but something that somehow for me just does not seem to fit in well with the profile, a musty/malty quality similar to their cornish cream though more pronounced & akin to what I get with the CAP sugar cookie, that aside it's a decent flavour that will no doubt blend well in a mix with many flavours, it's a bit sweeter than their other ice cream offering, not quite as good IMO but pleant good enough to make the cut, it's creamy but not overly so, good dense mouthfeel, but I don't feel the vanilla is any more prominent in this that their other one, I think by choice I'd use their regular ice cream rather then this supposed vanilla version due to the odd off note thing & the sweetness level, but it is a good concentrate & may be to others tastes more so than my own. @Linda Marie: Nice vanilla ice cream. It’s not too thick and custard-y like LB Vanilla ice cream. No off notes, doesn’t fade or get lost. I find this to be more milky than creamy, almost like store brand plain vanilla ice cream. Mixed 2% with French Vanilla thick at 1% and it made a very nice smooth creamy ice cream. I like this one a lot. I bought a bigger bottle. This mix goes well with a coffee, or espresso. Even a root beer float.
